Chelsea readying mammoth bid for Michael Keane
According to a recent report from The Mirror, Chelsea are readying a shock, huge £25 million bid for Burnley central defender Michael Keane.
It comes as no surprise to see interest in Keane intensifying given how well he’s stepped up from the Championship to the Premier League, however, the fee of £25 million is quite simply staggering.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is looking to bolster and refresh his ageing defence and has clearly identified Keane as a perfect buy for the short-term and the long-term.
However, Burnley will be keen to keep hold of one of their prized assets for the season ahead and beyond given his importance to The Clarets’ defence and their chances of staying in the top flight this season.
Keane impressed just last night too, as his second half goal helped his side to an important 2-0 victory over Watford after club record signing Jeff Hendrick opened the scoring.
