Burnley 1-1 Chelsea – Match Report
Burnley continued their excellent home form this season with a hard fought draw against Chelsea at Turf Moor.
It was always set to be a difficult occasion as The Clarets welcomed the league leaders to Turf Moor; a place that hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for away teams throughout the course of the campaign so far.
Sean Dyche was forced to field a slightly weakened side to what he would have liked due to the plethora of injuries in midfield, but the two January signings Ashley Westwood and Robbie Brady certainly contributed to a highly respectable result.
However, it was not looking to be a promising encounter as Chelsea took the lead early on through a well-worked goal that ended in Pedro Rodriguez firing home early on.
It was a cagey affair throughout but a moment of brilliance from Brady levelled things. A free-kick from the Irish international soared into Thibaut Courtois’ top right corner, providing the equaliser and the vital goal for the match.
Burnley will be the happier of the two sides on the day, with another point on the board.
